- Obverse: Displays the Ian Rank-Broadley likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination.
- Reverse: Features a Kookaburra perched on a tree branch against a colored background scene of the Murray River at sunrise. Includes the inscriptions “DISCOVER AUSTRALIA” and “KOOKABURRA” and is design by Tom Vaughan. The Perth Mint’s “P” mint mark and the 2012 year-date are also included in the design.
