Portrait of a Young Man

Portrait of a Young Man is a painting believed to have been created during the first two decades of the 16th century by the renowned Italian Renaissance artist Raphael Santi.

Acquired by the Czartoryski family in the early 19th century, the painting became one of the most prized works in the collection of the Czartoryski Museum in Kraków.

During World War II, the painting disappeared and has never been recovered. It is regarded as the most valuable lost artwork from Polish museum collections, making its story one of the most intriguing chapters in Poland’s cultural heritage.
